Westmount Country Club Stormy Night

For some reason, no fault of Westmount Country Club, it always rains when New Jersey's DJ (D'Amico Entertainment) performs there.  Our team arrived at the hall around 4:30 and it was nice out, really hot, but sunny.
The reception was perfect but as soon as cocktail hour started the clouds began to roll in.  Then the rain came.  Even if it was sunny out, I think the guests would have preferred to stay in the nice cool room rather than hang outside in the heat.

I love playing the continental room’s cocktail hour. I play sax with Chris on the piano and we played in the center of the room.  We were able to play nice and loud while the guests were chatting around us.  When we perform the cocktail hour up in the Westmount Country Club’s Ballroom, we are usually tucked in a corner and guests can’t really hear us.

Back to this wedding...
After Introductions. all you saw outside was black clouds coming towards us.  Then during the toasts, there was lightning everywhere and thunder crashing.  The wind and rain pounded the hall.  We were really able to appreciate the storm through the large windows in the hall.

The storm passed in about 20 minutes but it was exciting, especially for us.  We perform at many weddings and can appreciate the occasional excitement.  Although the storm shook things up for a little bit, we shook the dance floor all night with some great music and New Jersey's DJ Alive Show.
Last thing.  If you haven’t figured it out yet, the Westmount Country Club is obsessed with lights; big and small, short and tall, lasers, light flowers, l.e.d’s, etc.  Their ballrooms have really cool hanging lights all over the place.

For a brief second I thought....overkill.  I was driving out from the parking lot and saw long color changing light strips and red and green arrows in the pavement leading all the way out to the street.  Wow... just WOW!!
